Extremely knowledgeable, professional and friendly. These guys are both awesome at what they do and very clearly care so much about each of their clients & their individual needs. Extremely highly recommended.
I have had hip pain since I was a teenager. I became pregnant at 30 and when my son was born I was lucky enough to see Beckys post natal Pilates course advertised. She carefully guided us through restrengthening our bodies to repair the strains of pregnancy. The course was so good we encouraged her to set up a follow on group for us as we got stronger and our babies more mobile. As my body recovered from pregnancy I became aware that my hip was improving but the Pilates really demonstrated to me the difficulty I was having. So I asked Becky for some one to one physio. This was fantastic. She has been able to assess my hips and her skill and hard work on my hips has meant my hips now move so much better. So I now walk faster and my pain has reduced immensely. She is a fantastic physio and has really improved my quality of life. Thank you Becky!
The taboo nobody talks about! Bladder control after having children. Having two children very close in age and one delivered by forceps has put a strain on my pelvic floor. I was told I would need to make sure I do my pelvic floor exercises regularly & to remember it takes time for your body to get back to normal. I have always attended a pilates class in which I saw improvement but I would still need to go to toilet immediately & I couldn't hold it even though my children were 1 & 2. The final straw for me was when we moved to Kent & I hadn't done a pilates class for 3 weeks, at a toddler group I needed to go but there were no loos, as I got the children into the car lifting them in was too much, I wet myself!! Crying, I phoned my husband to say how ashamed I was that I couldn't even hold my wee in. I immediately found a pilates class, who recommended a great women's health physio. She reassured me I could get it back but I would have to put the ground work in, my bladder control was a 1 & their scale only goes up to 4 so I was very weak. Over the next year I continued pilates and kept up with women's health. By the time we left Kent I was at a 3 on their scale, not perfect but much better. The lady did say not to even try for a third child until my body was strong enough due to the pressure it puts on your body. When we moved back, my biggest worry was wouldn't I find someone as good as what I had found.Becky & Bill at Perfect Motion Physio were amazing, Bill knew what he was talking about & the pilates class I started to attend was so similar to the one in Kent, I was noticing the difference immediately. When I fell pregnant with my third child, I booked an appointment with Becky to see how my body would cope. I was certainly feeling like it was struggling even at 9 weeks & I had another 31 to go. Becky didn't lie that I would need to practice pilates everyday, but once a week was still good. She gave me exercises to do & spurred me on. It was good, but life took over & I became busy. Having suffered with sickness with all my pregnancies, I had never though wet myself when being sick, but over Christmas when I hadn't been to Bills class for two weeks, I started to wet myself due to the force of the sickness. This was not a great feeling, coping with pregnancy for starters, let alone still being sick at 18 weeks and now wetting myself at the same time. Feeling low, I booked an appointment with Becky, who gave me some great tips and really encouraged me to keep my body strong & not give up. She gave me the kick I needed to keep going. We agreed to meet a month later as I felt I needed that & I couldn't thank her more, the difference in my body over the last month is brilliant, I've stopped wetting myself and am able to control my bladder to the point that I don't need to go immediately, I've had no leakage & the pilates moves required are controlled and I don't feel such the wobble that I did. I felt so much happier to see the change & that actually at 25 weeks pregnant whilst not everyday is perfect, I now believe I can do this. What I have learnt over this last year in terms of my posture, breathing & how to strengthen my body is amazing. I recommend anyone that is struggling with their bladder after having children to book an appointment with Becky and Bill. The importance of women's health after having children is so important and you don't realise the pressure having a child puts on your body. Too many people think it is normal to have bladder issues & don't do anything about it, but it's not normal and I certainly know that it's not. I would recommend Becky & Bill 100%, they have been amazing & their knowledge on how the body works & how to strengthen it is great. They have given me so much confidence through this pregnancy and I'm now feeling after birth my body can cope, whether I'll cope with three children is another matter.....
There are few UK Physio clinics like Perfect Motion. Not only do they do the sports and back and neck stuff brilliantly but they also specialise in pregnancy; post natal and women's health. There are few clinics that have a specialist physio like Becky Potts . It is brilliant for us to have someone of her expertise to send patients to and she is a fab person also and brilliant with new mums, mums to be or women who are really struggling with quite sensitive and intimate problems. If you are not local to her make the effort and travel. She is a brilliant example as to the benefits of pelvic health physio.
