This was undoubtedly one of the best spa breaks I have had. From the start of booking till leaving the staff were helpful, friendly and very professional. The restaurant food, evening meal was fantastic, and breakfast was so tasty, with some very different choices in the continental breakfast like pina colada, a mixture of coconut cream, pineapple and grapefruit. Baked apple with crumble, prunes to die for. Main breakfast was tasty and eggs were cooked to perfection. The spa massage treatment was very good and the whole ambience of the 15th century hotel just lovely. Totally recommend.

As with other Historic Sussex Hotels, the hotel is lovely but the attention to detail by staff is awful. We waited about 30 minutes to have some ice in a bucket delivered to our room and had to call numerous times for assistance. Our breakfast order came all wrong and our drinks in the spa came with bits floating in them. It wasnt even busy when we were staying (it was a Thursday night). Our room, which was on the higher end of the spectrum, was facing the road so had noisy traffic in the morning. For the cost youd expect much better.

Excellent food and service, quite pricey.Interesting side showsThree of us,three starters main courses and desserts one bottle of wine and soft drinks came in at 170 and was good value. We all loved our chosen dishes and we all enjoyed tasting what others in our group had ordered.Service was pleasant and professional.I have no hesitation in recommending the Spread as a place to eat and look forward to eating there again when next in Midhurst Now the side shows, while we were enjoying our main course three elderly men, clad only in rather fetching identical grey dressing gowns, walked through the dining room, passed within inches of our table and proceeded on their merry way to wherever. There is nothing wrong with this however I can say that in over 50 years of fine dining this is a new one for me!Later on ,while we were still eating, two women wandered through the dining room accompanied by a well behaved dog! We had an interesting discussion about this event. One of us had no problems sharing the dining room with a well behaved dog ,one of us was neutral,I would not choose to to eat in a place where dogs were free to mingle with diners as even the best behaved dog (like a normally well behaved human)can have a bad day.None of the above had any adverse effect on a jolly good meal and certainly added to the conversation over dinner

Went for the afternoon tea and spa experience. The pool and gym were very enjoyable. The afternoon tea was excellent. Every request for specific requirements was remembered and acted upon.. All of the food and drink was of the highest quality, and quantity was more than sufficient.

A gem of a find! Warm friendly staff. Knowledgeable and helpful. A beautiful hotel full of history, character and Charm. We were fortunate enough to have the St. Anne's Suite which was large, very comfortable and authentic; overlooking the quiet front of the hotel. Fitted out with a 4 poster bed and a lovely bathroom. Dinner was delicious and stunningly presented, but portions were a little small more me, staff again were delightful.Afternoon tea could be taken in the conservatory or bar. As you can see there was something for everyone and plenty of it. Bar staff were again friendly and helpful and there if required. The bar itself was full of history and very comfortable. The Spa was petite but perfectly formed! A lovely pool, nice atmosphere and my wife enjoyed her massage. There was a good range of gym equipment also available. A few bed 'guardians' were present, saving beds for invisible guests which was a shame forcing some guests to sit on the wall or benches when it became busy. Overall a wonderful stay in the stunning and quiet area of Midhurst. We could not recommended it more highly and look forward to a return visit.
